Project Specialist
Christine is a Hillsboro, Kansas, native. Following three years at Tabor College, studying Business and Home Economics, she completed her Home Economics Education degree at Kansas State University. After teaching for three years, she began missionary life with her husband, Dan Smith, first at Missionary TECH Team in Texas, and then joined World Impact. Serving on staff at The Oaks Camp and Conference Center gave a variety of opportunities, with key areas of responsibility as camp store manager, and dining room supervisor, while valuing the times of mentoring younger staff.
In 2014 she moved back to Kansas where she and Dan joined the staff of Morning Star Ranch. Key roles included cleaning facilities and oversight of the kitchen and volunteers. After 23 years of camp life and service, Christine joins TUMI staff to assist with special projects.
Christine also likes to work in her home kitchen, to read historical fiction and biographies, and to garden and sew. The Smiths have three daughters, a son-in-law, and four grandchildren, all of whom live in the Bay Area of California.
