Your Redemption is Drawing Near
The coming of Jesus Christ will be accompanied by signs that will terrify, cosmic manifestations among the sun, moon, and stars, and in the earth and among the nations. In the middle of these signs, the Son of Man will appear to receive his Kingdom – his followers will lift up their heads (a symbol of redemption and hope) because at that time their redemption (i.e., their safety, rescue, and blessing) will be drawing near. In the same way you can detect that summer is near by looking at the fig leaves sprouting in late spring, so when these signs occur, the people of God will know that the Kingdom of God is close at hand.
