New Associate Contracts or Renewing Associate Contracts
1. Candidate is informally vetted and approved by supervisor
2. WI staff member and candidate draw up agreed upon contract (print out form "WI Associate Contract Request" below and complete that with the candidate).
3. Submit contract to Regional Vice President for approval
4. Regional VP submits form below (to Senior Vice President Ministry Mobilization / Senior Vice President Church and Leadership Development)
5. Receive notification of approval (approval pdf will be sent to RVP)
6. Submit completed W9 (by candidate) form and approved contract to relevant associate program administrator.

Independent Contractors
Remember, all World Impact Associates are Independent Contractors. All of the following criteria must be kept in order to keep WI within legal parameters:

Associate account must be in the "black" in order to cover monthly stipend
Associates should be given SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-Bouind) goals. The timeframe should range from at least 3 and no more than 12 months.
Contracts should not be an automatic renewal but rather based on progress toward SMART goals.
Associates cannot be required to attend any official trainings as part of their SMART goals.
The World Impact staff who initiated the contract should check in monthly with the associate for a status update toward the completion of the task. Staff should also provide periodic status updates for his or her supervisor.
Associates are not considered employees or representatives of World Impact in any way.
Associates are not to have any official reporting relationship with World Impact staff.
Associates are not to have set work hours.
Associates are not to have system connections (WI email, cell phones, business cards, etc.)

1. Generally associates should not be asked to raise their own support. However, exceptions can be made if approved by supervisor.
2. The source of funding will be either from the city or regional associates account, or split between the two depending on the project(s)
3. Payment is a monthly stipend range

Mobilization
1. Church Planter: Planting a church with ministry towards the urban poor
2. UCA Initiative: Projects associated with urban church associations
3. Capacity Builder: Projects under the direction of a missional partner
4. Special Projects: As determined by WI staff

Church Development
1. TUMI Initiative: Projects associated with TUMI
2. SIAFU Initiative: Projects associated with SIAFU
3. Special Projects: As determined by WI staff

Please note: In cases where an associate is doing tasks in both categories list primary category on contract
